@ActionRetro They've announced a software update. It's not available yet.
Also the break light issue is only if you're using the one peddle driving. All of the other regen modes are fine.
Consider the Ioniq 5. It's a great EV. It really feels like you're driving a starship. We even named it Enterprise. Lol
However, a used Tesla is likely cheaper.
One thing that is changing is that it seems everyone is switching to the Tesla charging plug. CCS is on the way out so, dongle life may be needed for future charging. T_T
I want to note that I really really dislike the spaceman, but I like the idea of going used and doing my daily driving without gas - plus it's something I can afford 😅
@ActionRetro Everything would be better overall with that pragmatism, that's why Torvalds' approach to software choice works
And on a related note, I feel like Tesla has the same problem as Gearbox
Full of people who make cool stuff, but the stupid, greasy CEO makes everyone look bad by association
The worst part about Teslas to me is the same as every modern Apple OS: Too locked down
@ActionRetro I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could root every vital module on that car and rip out anything that could possibly phone home. I don't blame you! Not the best car in terms of fit and finish, but for a rolling chassis, it's not too shabby!
@ActionRetro May or may not suit the price range (and not sure if used is an option in your general area), but last year my wife and I got a new Kona EV. We'd been saving for a while. The reviews all said it was an excellent car and they were right.
I don't miss anything about gas cars. Not the noise or the weak performance or control feel or paying for gas to burn and destroy the planet. I love my EV, period.
(And yes, generally the software works very well.)
@ActionRetro Well, muskrat's antics are causing extra depreciation on these, so you're getting a better deal than you would on a different car, at least. (Also: the big difference between musk and the other car company big wigs is the latter group keeps their mouths shut in public.)
@ActionRetro I can't get on with the touchscreen interface to everything in Teslas. The worst possible UI. A colleague was telling me how hard it was to change the speed of his wipers while driving in his Model X. How is that a problem? We solved this decades ago on the stalks 🤣
