Society is kinda amazing. You live in a big cluster of other humans, and you can get one of them to do stuff for you that you don’t know how to do (like plumbing), or where a pile of humans is needed (like… a coffee shop). And they build stuff like trains.
Is it only me randomly impressed by the existence of other people this Saturday?
I find it fascinating and humbling that we humans can discern and decipher many astronomical phenomena through observations of a few "bazillion" photons of varying wavelengths.

existence (& mass & orbital periods) of planets,
chemical compositions of stars (& some planetary atmospheres),
attributes of neutron stars, black holes, etc.
@tomw@elizabethtasker yeap same, especially when riding on a busy highway. Thinking about the infrastructure and organisation, provisioning and coordination that goes into all that.
