#MikeJohnson says that the Bible teaches that refugees should assimilate into the culture of the country that takes them in. I'm not sure where he gets that from. There's an obscure story in the Bible about a group of refugees that don't assimilate and are greatly rewarded by God. You might have heard about it. It's called the Book of Exodus.
@BernieDoesIt It doesn't fuckin matter what the Bible says because Christianity and the Bible have no relevance to the administration of government. This dude is probably the biggest Christofascist currently serving in Congress. A true denizen of Gilead.
@slcw Everyone uses their sense of morality in government administration, and our system gives Leaders huge amounts of discretion for that very reason. The problem is how horrifying his sense of morality is and his lying about its source is emblematic of it.
