Good morning fellow Mastos and hello to a soggy Saturday. It has been raining all night again. Kept me awake since 02:00 -- I am not amused!

Have a great weekend everyone, starting now, weather permitting of course. Don't forget to have fun.

Today's photo is from July this year when a fox decided to drink from our pond's filter outlet.

@NormanDunbar
Great shot (and Good Morning: Our soggy is coming later in heavy windy rain event for the weekend. I must tie the garbage cans.)

I seldom see foxes, one every two or three years. I see coyotes regularly, but not looking for them. All the fox pictures I managed to get, they were in flight. I haven't seen a fox relaxed for years.
Maybe if I owned a chicken coop LOL

    @NormanDunbar My rural home is on the ocean. We rarely (thankfully) see few deer. Those we do, swim across the harbour to get into the yard, rather than crossing a highway and open space to get to my gardens. All water animals are around, mink, otters, seals, sea birds, and raccoons fishing in Tidal ponds. The only unusual visitor was a few years of migrating groundhogs. Which I relocated.

    @Rasta @NormanDunbar I love these little guys. 😍 We have a lot of them in Michigan. More of them further south near us than we used to have.

    @JeremyMallin It's ocean, rocky where we are on the coast. For decades, we never saw them in Nova Scotia, then only in Farm land. They kill cattle by breaking their legs in holes they dig and collapsed tunnels. So cute
    you want to keep them as a pet, one was so tame, I'd pass him Cantaloupe. He tunneled under my house, collapsing part of the foundation and cracking the solid concrete step . then broke up the concrete floors of my sheds. Then random holes and rocks when mowing @NormanDunbar

    Standing in front of the live trap, the trigger malfunctioned and needed resetting, so BOB (as we named our first groundhog) waited for me to reload it and rebait it.
    And then Bob was inside the live trap, transported to a lovely 21 acres on the ocean, just a few miles away. Later, his girlfriend and all their offspring went to join him. 6 in total, 7th was an accidental Raccoon.

    @Rasta @NormanDunbar I guess we're luckier here. Many of the homes around here have basements. They generally don't dig deep enough to get under basements. I guess it depends how deep the basement is though.

    @JeremyMallin He went down the wall, digging out, My garden shed, the ground he dug out, piled against the door that pushes in, took forever to get to my garden tools after he arrived. He ate gardens, but not enough to notice, my wife would chase him out when he was there. It was the digging non-stop. And when I relocated
    him, every other one filled that spot and kept digging

    @NormanDunbar It's not all bad. The mother duck brings ducklings to the edge of the garden, watches around while they go in and out of the rows, eating the slugs and bugs. The geese are messy but mostly only come with the new goslings. It's a pretty nice wild kingdom at times.
    Mind you, I just returned to city living yesterday, for the winter. That rural setting has no services, it's hard to exist in a place that never had cellular or emergency services.
