@agx
where do i change the screenshot behavior in phosh?

i'd like to instantly save it in /Pictures/Screenshots since there is no application to paste the screenshot 😅

btw. thanks for your amazing work!

agx,

@pocketvj wl-paste always works (and make sure to file a bug against your favorite image-viewer if it doesn't support paste in 2023). Which reminds me that I still need to fix hydrogen.
There's also gnome-screenshot which saves to folders nicely. (Phosh itself currently does clipboard only)

@agx

thanks for your quick reply!

so there is no option to make changes in the phosh-screenshot button?

(was used to sxmo where i could solve anything with a script, in gnome i am completely lost)...

agx,

@pocketvj You can add a shell scripts that does

wl-paste > ~/Pictures/Screenshots/date +"%Y-%m-%d_%H:%M:%S".png

(or s.th. more elaborate). Use that in a desktop file in

.local/share/applications

add that to phosh's favorites and hit it after the screenshot and it will put it in that folder

@agx

it seems to be that we need to escape special characters like ~ in desktop entries, and i am too stupid to solve this quest (on mobile only environment) 😅

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Screenshotsaver
Exec=wl-paste > ~/Pictures/Screenshots/"$(date +'%Y-%m-%d_%H:%M:%S').png"
Icon=

agx,

@pocketvj Put the command in a shell script to get shell expansion. You can poke with "sh -c ..." but a script is so much nicer (and as a bonus you can invoke it from the command line too if it's in $PATH)

its still all a bit crazy:
since select/copy/paste between applications does not work, the workaround is to take a screenshot e.g. of #Tuba then run #TextSnatcher, then open TextEditor to paste the extracted text, so I can select what I need, then copy it to paste into Tuba to make a post.... 🤪

so even writing and testing a bash script can take hours due to missing copy/paste in terminal (which is nicely solved in sxmo btw).... but yea, kind of getting there😂

agx,

@pocketvj select/copy/paste works fine here. (Using phosh-osk-stub: https://gitlab.gnome.org/guidog/phosh-osk-stub). Otherwise I couldn't do a thing. I have CTRL-{,SHIFT}-{C,V} as keyboard shortcuts in the terminal layout so it's super quick.

@agx
👍
but what do you do when you are not able to select the text 😂

agx,

@pocketvj File a bug against the app 😃 (or maybe Droidian to pick one that works, depending on which app that is)
