I'm looking for info on the Pro M3 machines.

I currently can plug my 2019 Air into a docking station with one USB C cable for power, 2 external monitors, ethernet, and USB peripherals such as cameras. Would that be possible with the latest machines?

P.S. I'm using a DisplayLink driver for the 2 external displays to have different contents. I'm hoping the new Macs could provide that natively.

@gdinwiddie You‘d need at least the M3 Pro chip for two displays: scroll down to Display Support to see the specs. https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/

@peter
Ah, thanks. I'd overlooked that.

Can the new MacBooks be charged via USB3/Thunderbolt ports, or do you have to use the magsafe port for that?

@gdinwiddie It‘s all these little uncertainties that are kinda important when buying such an expensive tool! You found your answer, but just to add that I run mine through a single USB-C cable all day and connect all the things to the monitor – works great.

@peter
Yeah, and it doesn't help when the guy at the Apple store doesn't know the answer and doesn't know how to find out.
