@RickiTarr Besides Reality: The Gameshow, there's the video game Tyranny, where you play one of the Big Bad's Evil Right Hand subjugating an outlying realm. Actually really fun, fairly short by CRPG standards.

I think there was an episode of the PowerPuff Girls where Mojo Jojo does exactly that. He takes control of the City of Townsville and then turns out to be a highly competent leader and administrator who is loved for usherering in a golden age, but he quits after deciding that actually ruling the city is boring.

@RickiTarr Thing is, I don’t think the sadocapitalist criminals who put Trump where he is actually want/need a stable government. Sure, they’d love to own the country, but if that’s not possible, they can also profit off its falling apart. What they really don’t want is a stable government that will keep them in check.
