The willingness to criticize brazenly criminal behavior, and serious moral failings ("his own interests and...ego") and YET be willing to vote for such a person says volumes about that moral vacuum in which the #fascist#republicans operate.

(Essentially, Bush pardoned himself.) AGBarr later squashed the MuellerRpt, again in accordance w/the Nixonian notion that sitting Presidents can't be prosecuted. When bad guys such as Barr go unpunished or are not disbarred, they return stronger than before. We are stuck in a time warp from '72.
