@demofox It does. I use ChatGPT to translate shaders often. Crazy thing is, there are some custom transpilers out there but they generate stuff that looks like disassembly. ChatGPT translates the code the way a human would; it preserves identifier names, uses idioms of the target language.

@demofox sure but are you ok with the translation being a bit off and create a subtle memory leak😀?

We are using human brain to mitigate the actual hard problems in natural languages, will computer do the same for sloppy code is the question.

@demofox anecdotally have heard chatgpt does pretty decent at translating small amounts of code between languages
