Would also add a recommendation of receiving GNSS signals, though I don't remember whether a special amplifier was essential. With your own transmitter (using a freely usable frequency to not bother real users with the much-too-strong signal) it worked great

@luc @blinry @mumblegrepper For GNSS special well tuned and filtered puck shape antennas exist and due to the volumes produced they are quite cheap.
