I painted this wasp with some new friends at the Kanata Art Club Open Studio last night. Just under 90 minutes of work. I absolutely love drawing and painting insects. I think that rendering their wonderful mix of textures and values helps to improve my skills as an artist.
Wonderful. My own photos in iNaturalist are CC-BY, as are those of many others. I have 4 entries for the emerald cuckoo wasp with multiple photos each. The metalic feel and multicolor look are really something. Can't stop photographing this wasp when I find it, often on mint flowers.
