I've taken the agregate of all your fine suggestions and changed the <blockquote> to this.

No outline, thick left border, 75% width, centred on the page.

@Edent I prefer the distinction the border gives, but it could be more subtle; perhaps a different colour or even a drop shadow?

Although famously, I am no designer.
