So iGBA has now been removed from the App Store. The question is: why? Could be all sorts of reasons. Which is fun, because that means we still don’t know what Apple’s actual stance on emulation happens to be.

It's actually a cryptic bureaucracy.
Fun side note: under the DMA they actually have to explain in detail all these decisions, and be fair and consistent, or the feudal landlord risks getting punished.
@kkolakowski@rileytestut But there’s no confirmation of that. Apple is, as ever, being vague. Spam and copyright. So that could mean copyright in the sense of it being a knock-off. But it could also be external ROM loading.
@craiggrannell my guess? Apple doesn’t want to allow loading of roms from external sources.
They’re fine with official Nintendo/Sony/whatever emulators with a number of licensed roms included, but no way they’re gonna approve “open” emulators.
GBA4iOS approval has probably been the latest error in the review process, and as soon as the higher ups noticed, they removed it, simple as that.
