@johnonolan I know you can’t read this yet on #threads but federating a existing service is not that complicated.

The #activitypub specification allows you to implement things in an incremental way.

I worked in federation of our #flipboard network.

Federating #ghost can’t be that complicated.

So much potential here! Absolutely love the idea of out-substacking Substack with true openness and interoperability.

Give writers and publishers the ability to own their own domain, email list, AND activities through federation and syndication.

Lots to consider in terms of Ghost adding support for podcasts too — since the Podcast 2.0 community is moving towards ActivityPub.

My submission:

"I would hope that by turning on Federation each Ghost author would become a fediverse account, each new website post would federate out in full as a fedvierse post, and the account could be followed, each post could be fully liked, or engaged with in the fediverse, and that any replies to each fediverse post, would federate back to the original web article as a comment."

It would benefit me as it would bring more fediverse based content to engage with from Ghost users.
