jsbilsbrough, 1 month ago So, researching the story of the somewhat bizare story of 5 1/4 #floppies still being used on San Francisco trains: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/04/5-25-inch-floppy-disks-expected-to-help-run-san-francisco-trains-until-2030/ Can any of you #retro folks tell me if a floppy emulator would help here, like a GoTek, is such a thing possible for 5 1/4” disks? Boosts appreciated!

brunogirin, 1 month ago @jsbilsbrough ok but 5 1/4" floppies were already legacy in 1998 so they're trying to upgrade a technology from the 80s that was installed in the 90s?
