Well I have An Problem.

I need a single 15 ohm 0805 size resistor, but dickhead me ordered 0402 size instead. Should I try to yolo-place an 0402 anyway?

I
Have yolo-placed
A 0402 where a 0805 should go

Forgive me
This may now be
Another fuse

@jpm two 0402s = 0804 which to my amateur mind seems like just about what you need if you just add numbers together.

@trib @jpm 4 0402's would actually work fairly well......

@jpm@aus.social avatar

@LovesTha @trib wait… fuck

@LovesTha@floss.social avatar

@jpm @trib A truly cursed fix.

@jpm@aus.social avatar

@LovesTha @trib on multiple levels:

  1. An 0402 is (about) half the linear dimensions of 0805, so 1/4 total footprint size. 4 x 0402 makes the same size component as an 0805

  2. Parallel-series of 4 equal-value resistors in 2S2P equals (about - plus/minus total tolerance) the same as a single.

@jpm yes

@jpm@aus.social avatar

@Kels_316 done. Seems to have worked, but it may become a fuse…

@Kels_316@aus.social avatar

@jpm bonus!

@jpm@aus.social avatar

@Kels_316 well, another fuse, in series with the actual fuse
