Is this a good place to talk about LinkedIn? 🤔 How do you deal with connection requests by people you've never met or talked to before? Are there any "good" reasons to accept those?
@krakenbuerger I just click approve on everything because it might improve my "reach".
LinkedIn is a waste of time anyway and 99%+ of any "content" there is corporate spam of some kind - be it messages or the mass posts people push on behalf of their company because they've got no identity.
It doesn't get worse by having many connections, and the time spent "vetting" them is lost.
Honestly, I struggle with explaining why I even still have an account.
@krakenbuerger I have several hundred such connection requests queued. I only accept connections with people I actually have some actual relation to and with.
@krakenbuerger “why” – that’s exactly the question. Why should I?
No, more seriously: I’m a very low-key LI user, so I had to check… My DMs are open, meaning you can send me an introductory message anytime. No need to establish a long-term connection immediately.
Like on the street/in a café: small talk first, we can still exchange numbers/business cards later. Why collect “dead” contacts?
@krakenbuerger Will be hard to answer you, I am the odd one that decided that LI was bringing me nothing, so I just deleted my account a couple years ago :D
