As an autistic person, I hate when people tell me major news, like about how their grandma died.
If they don’t provide additional context about how they're feeling, I’m always like "wait, are you sad because you liked them or are you happy because they were mean and racist like my own awful grandma?"
Funny you say that. It reminds me of the times my patients say, "I'm pregnant!" and then I have to carefully tease out: are they happy about this? Are they upset?
