In 2016 I got really into the NBA and paid for NBA streaming video and watched it all on my Apple TV. I stopped paying the next season and watched less and less. I usually just watch the finals and all-star games now.
Today, my Apple TV dutifully alerts every TV in the house, my phone, and my watch whenever there's a close NBA game about to end (which is just about nightly), with no discernible way to turn it off 8 years after this information was useful to me.
