I don't know whether to laugh at the absurdity of people who fear Satan or cry because they still exist in 2024.

As an aside, the Xians claim to be a monotheistic religion, but if Satan isn't a god, what is he? Obviously, he's powerful enough to keep Yahweh from dispatching him.

Well, the common teaching is that Satan works for God, and so it's not a question of Satan being powerful, but of God finding him useful.

God still doesn't come out looking very good in that explanation either.

@jztusk That's interesting, too. But just to walk through it, if Christians fear Satan and tell stories about the threats he poses, surely there must be some expectation that God could destroy Satan if he wanted to. I'm having trouble finding that. It seems like, ultimately, Satan will be trapped in Hell. Why not destroyed?

(Just curious about your opinion. I have no supernatural beliefs.)
