My university email is switching to Outlook in like 3 days. I'm looking forward to not getting any work emails for a few days while I try to get microsoft to play nice with my linux research laptop...
@sundogplanets if Thunderbird doesn't cut it (e.g. calendar support is a bit hit and miss), try with Evolution, which I've been using with O365 for years. The UI is a bit dated, but I found it a lot more stable in talking to the Exchange server than Thunderbird.
@sundogplanets the bigger worry with outlook is that MS uses very restrictive blocklists and you may simply never get emails from some colleagues ever, especially if they are from smaller institutions. This has happened to me a few times.
(and by "looking forward," I mean mild panic because I'm running an important panel/committee thing May 1-6 that will involve lots of emails. Aaahhhh....)
If you do end up going down the path of discovering how davmail¹ works, I'm at your service if you run into snags. (I hope you don't have to, and that a smoother solution exists in your situation!)
