@tdverstynen hence "kids" for my text chains with other dev friends on how we think about how the kids and teenagers we worked with are seen by society (which spills pretty directly into perceptions of higher ed learners when they're infantilized) and "college students" for the current commentary :)
Sorry, I wasn’t referring to how you were using it necessarily. My apologies for that confusion. I was more referring to how people use “kids” when talking in general about college students
@grimalkina learning about adultism and its first patterns sometimes gives me the irrational idea that how we abuse kids is a latchkey to many, many things broken in our society.

I'm reminded that human babies can count. They know the difference between none of something, one of something, and doublings thereafter. They can tell when they've been given more or less than another baby. We're born with a sense of justice and fairness.
Yes, we can be selfish little beasties, but I suspect a part of us knows we're being unjust when we do that. Or would when we see clearly.
