@flexghost Someone already posted Ratt, which was one of my favorite bands during my 12 y/o hair-band phase (before I got into New Wave and everything changed.) Also listened to Dokken and Def Leppard at the time.
But these guys were also in my favorite rotation. Definitely more power-pop than metal, But Jack Blades' hair (is it a mullet? Who knows?!) made all the difference.
(Also, not drinking booze because I don't, but I did down a bottle of Hint water earlier.)

Late to the party. When I think of rock and roll "hair" bands, I think of Ten Years After and Alvin Lee. Guitar, hair, and voice. A pull out poster from one of my old vinyl albums decorated my daughter's HS bedroom.

I've been trying weird blends. This one has Cinsault, Zinfandel, Grenache, Barbera, Petit Sirah, Tannat, Mouvedre, Clariette Blanche, Sangiovese. Called "The Puppet", chillable red wine. I think it's the winery version of a café whose "house blend" of coffee is what they sweep up off the floor.
Apparently not, surprisingly I have no idea and don't recall even hearing of hair metal before or what hair metal is and based on wiki definition of sub genre of metal have no idea what distinction is other than if a band banged around West Hollywood maybe they're hair metal band.
Interestingly, I still remember watching Geraldo as a kid and seeing them all freak out when he read the lyrics to “Used to Love Her” from GNR Lies. The guy from the music industry was all “they’re just having fun,” as I scream at the television with my father laughing, “IT’S ABOUT HIS DOG YOU MORONS!!!”
@flexghost The Scorpions are definitely Hair Metal. It is rumored that song was the work of a CIA psyops. Don't believe it but a cool story. Thin Lizzy influenced Hair Metal and the lead singer Phil Lynott was (for a high school kid) an awesome guy to be at a Queen concert with. That is Truffle Mushroom lasagna - very good. And my day is going well right now.
@flexghost this is one genre that completely passed me by, all that incessant REO Speedforeigner twaddle proved too much. Daryl Hall had some hair, so ‘Sacred Songs’ and a glass of 19 Crimes Snoop Dogg blend.
