Popping up right the next day makes them very very frustrating to deal with, and thus hard to ignore.

@justafrog This happened last night. Apparently the protesters managed to use the barriers against the police and boxed them in 🤣
I saw a couple of clips of the police on campus - they're horrific.

@justafrog The media here have gone into pearl-clutching overdrive this morning. One of the main breakfast news shows has been talking about "campus violence" - I suppose because there are 19 campuses with encampments now - but showing film of the counter protesters without explaining that's what they are.
I think Sunak's meeting the university heads as well.
I don't think this is going to end well, but I also don't think the students will take it sitting down, as it were.

@fkamiah17 I just read that Utrecht's uni closed some locations till monday, to avoid having their buildings continuously reoccupied.

Let's see how much success they'll have managing the yoofs today.

@justafrog I think there's already a third university in the Netherlands that has set up a camp. Tbh I'm having trouble keeping up - there are more opening every day, getting shut down, re-establishing ...
It's telling that there have been a few - most notably Barcelona, which was only up for one day - where the administration acted like grown ups from the start and the students responded by taking their tents down voluntarily.
