Ah yes, I see it’s time for the people in shorts to kick the ball again, as hundreds of people who have seemingly lost all politeness and semblance of being human beings shout, scream, and « sing » in the streets and take up every single cm of the walkways with their cars.

I can’t wait to move so I’m no longer close to the f**king stadium. I hate football and football supporters so much, it turns into irrational anger.

word
imagine caring about some overpayed men kicking a ball around

@4g10w Never could quite understand why so many people liked watching this stuff, and got so into it.

Then again, I’m a grown man making videos about computer stuff and I spend my free time painting plastic miniatures, so maybe I’m not in the best place to judge 😂

@thelinuxEXP Wouldn’t parking on the sidewalk result in your car getting towed? 🤔

thelinuxEXP,
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@bouncing of course not! It’s football day so the cops don’t care!

@thelinuxEXP
Overheard in a huge group of football fans on a train:
"Well yeah we lost that game last month in München but this is gonna be so fucking good."
No you didn't. You didn't play, just drank beers and shouted.

thelinuxEXP,
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@aronkvh Yeah, the « we » always made me laugh so hard. Bunch of idiots thinking they’re part of the team 😂

@thelinuxEXP I sometimes wish I could get as excited about something like sports fans do…

thelinuxEXP,
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@slembcke I do, but I don’t impose it on other people by being loud and obnoxious 😂

@thelinuxEXP I personally didn't like football either, though one of my friends are very into it. She asked me to view it from a different perspective and honestly, i still don't understand it that much.
However, her point was that football people unite by supporting the same team, sort of like most of us hate Windows 11.

... I realize now/later that this comment doesn't make any sense but I'll post it anyway

Did I know my current flat was « close » (10 minutes walk) to the stadium when I bought it? Yeah.

Did I think people would be so obnoxious and the city would have 0 parking spots around the stadium? No. Seriously, what makes this acceptable when it’s football, but when it’s people protesting, we sent the police to hit them with sticks? Insane.

AngryAnt,
@AngryAnt@mastodon.gamedev.place avatar

@thelinuxEXP Obviously the police can't hit people with sticks while the police is busy singing in the streets on their way to/from the stadium ;)

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@AngryAnt So true it hurts.

Easy! One makes companies lose profits, and the other make companies gain profits!

thelinuxEXP,
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@charadon Yep, that seems to be the main reasoning these days

matt,
@matt@oslo.town avatar

@thelinuxEXP You can turn it to your advantage and use the racketeering tactics of the kids that used to hang outside of Maine Road, Manchester City's old stadium:

As football fans come and park their car, you go up to them and ask for €5 for you to "watch their car". You know; make sure it doesn't get damaged whilst they're in a stadium for 90mins.

(If you didn't pay the money the same kids would throw a brick through your car window or scratch the paint up)

thelinuxEXP,
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social avatar

@matt Haha that’s a good idea!

bargoderea,
@bargoderea@mastodon.social avatar

@thelinuxEXP our political heads fascinated with football
In tunisia it is worse, our house is nowhere near any kind of stadium but here every cm there's a café, and what cafés do? All of them always have TVs and football, and the majority of people are fascinated by football, that makes sleeping at night hard cause the noise, & parking is even harder when there is a match
