While this article is indisputably true, it misses out the bigger picture. Since the 2019 general election Kier Starmer has led a right wing faction within the Labour Party. Starmerites recognized that the Tories had been taken over by their gibbering fringe, and they identified Conservativism as the fulcrum of British politics, so they are trying to supplant the Tory Party, much as the SNP supplanted Labour in Scotland.
