HTH did someone allow a regulated UK financial institution use a '.co' address?

@penguin42 What?

@mansr A UK owned and run bank whose registered FCA address is a .co rather than co.uk

@penguin42 Well, which one?

@penguin42 Never heard of it. The .co TLD certainly doesn't inspire confidence, and neither does anything on their website. Maybe I'm boring myself, but I prefer a boring traditional bank.

@mansr There are hundreds of small saving banks with good rates; you do of course have to check everything on FCA's website, but FCA are pretty clueless in enforcing sensible domain names or keeping a register of all the domains associated with an institution.

@penguin42 Maybe they're fine, but why would they choose a .co domain? Apart from organisations in Colombia, pretty much everyone who uses that domain seems dodgy in some way.

@mansr I've seen it happen before because a clueless marketing guy did it.

@penguin42 For regulated services like banks, I think it would make sense to require the use of a subdomain controlled by the regulator. In the UK, they could be under .bank.uk or something.

@mansr absolutely, preferably with a certificate signed by the FCA. But the FCA are clueless.
