I really don't get it. Building a data center that requires a ton of cooling and millions of gallons of water a year, in a place where almost half the year the temperature is above 100° F, and it's a desert, so there isn't a lot of water.

@SomeGadgetGuy It’s been an express goal of the government and business sectors here to make the metro area a and hub. They’ve been pretty successful.

@rcpierce oh I'm from New Mexico and I've done work with contractors working for the labs. I get doing the research and tech work in the south west, and there's a tradition of using remote areas for security.
I just don't get the operation of massive data centers when you'll constantly be addressing water rights.
