I'm looking into wiping my daily driver aka #ThinkPad P14s AMD and reinstalling #VoidLinux using #ZFS but I'm currently torn. I'm going to use ZFSBootMenu and an encrypted zpool but if I wanted to use hibernate aka suspend to disk I'd need a separate swap partition which would then be unencrypted. So to rectify that I'd need to use Luks which then makes zfs encryption pointless. So either I don't worry about the suspend to disk image being unencrypted or I just don't use suspend to disk ? 🤔

I don't often use hibernate but what if I wanted to and I hadn't configured a swap partition ? Also is it really that bad security wise for the occassional times that I use hibernate to have an unencrypted swap partition when the zfs pool is encrypted ?? OR do I straight up go with absolutely no hibernate function and the encrypted zfs pool. ( No I don't want luks as I'd rather use zfs own encryption )
@JustineSmithies I mean, it's interesting following your reports of the furrow you're ploughing, but wouldn't it be easier to find something else less painful, like burning your hand on an iron, or something like that? 😃
