I'm catching up on the #100Girlfriends #anime. A few things really jump out

1. They actively fight against the girls being one dimensional.

2. They stress the importance of relationships between girls instead of going hub and spokes poly.

3. I'm not normally a laugh out loud kind of guy (I mostly smile) but this show has me laughing a lot.

I knew the entirety of what was going to happen in the #100Girlfriends scene where Shizuka confesses. I saw someone spoil it to Geoff Thew on the bird site. He included a clip of the scene when recommending the #anime. I still teared up when I saw it because it wasn't what I expected.

Scenes like that where even having the details and context spoiled don't negate the emotional impact are hard to come by. Geoff was absolutely correct that this is top tier solid gold trash. It is still a #harem anime about hypergyny with all that entails but I don't think I've met a protag-kun I've wanted to win (for non-self-insert reasons) this much before.
