With only a weekend until the start of the , @codysimpson is undoubtedly preparing for the heats of his life. He'll have a couple of things to look forward to beyond the racing in Brisbane... being officially released on June 18th & a cover shoot + interview of him, set to come out next Friday, the 14th. Hopefully I can read that in full at some point. Nice pics of him in various designer clothes from that shoot. All the best, to you Codes.

Looked up Codes' events...
His first is the 50 m Freestyle (heat 2, lane 9) on Wednesday, June 12th. Heats begin at 12:10 AEST.
A final is at 20:40, B final at 21:20
Second is the 100 m Freestyle (heat 3, lane 6) on Thursday, June 13th. Heats begin at 11:56.
A final at 20:12, B final at 21:16
Lastly, his bread and butter -- the 100 m Fly (heat 3, lane 5) on the last day: Saturday, June 15th. Heats begin @ 12:14.
A final is @ 20:14 & B final is @ 20:22
Whatever the outcome, I'll be glad for him.

Looked into giving @codysimpson an extra incentive to get on the #Paris2024 Dolphins or by clocking personal best(s) at the #AustralianOlympicTrials . If he did, I was willing to pick up a pair of the #Speedo replica #Olympic swim briefs, to congratulate him & support the Dolphins. But #SpeedoAusNZ has their site restricted to Australian-only purchases. Could get parcel forwarding to Canada, but the billing portion is solely for Aussie addresses. Oh well. Maybe Codes can snag a pair.

Merely 1½ weeks until @codysimpson is off to Brisbane for quite the swim trial ( #AustralianOlympicTrials ) . Was going to repost the video he had a few days ago of him swimming a blazing fast lap with a few bars of "Love's Theme" by Barry White, featuring the Love Unlimited Orchestra playing in the background. But he seems to have taken it down. Instead, noticed his rather simple bio title...

Ah, how appropriate: the next song that just came up on my shuffle is Susan Jacks' rendition of "Elusive Butterfly". Seems very timely. Reminds me of this butterfly sand mold I kept during my last visit to California in 2014. Found it at Huntington Beach as I was digging in the sand. Something told me to hold onto it -- lest it get pulled out to sea as more ocean plastic. It's safe here.

About 2½ weeks until the #AustralianOlympicTrials and 3½ weeks left before @codysimpson 's Children's book is officially released to the wild. I haven't preordered one yet since it seems to be quite Australian-specific. But, will get my hands on a copy, one day soon -- preferably a signed one. In the meantime, a few glimpses of it...

A behind-the-scenes short compilation video of @codysimpson as he engages in a few different gym training weight exercises with less than one month to go before the start of the #AustralianOlympicTrials .
Nice touch with having "Part The Seas" as the soundtrack -- one of my favs. Tempo is sync'd nicely with many of the movements, so a great choice.

With about one month to go before the , @codysimpson is nearly in the homestretch to make the trek to Brisbane. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear less from him over the coming weeks as he perhaps gets "sequestered", to some degree. But, based on how active he was prior to Commonwealth, there's no guarantee about that happening.

Noticed that "The Next Golden Adventure" poem by Nep (which Codes took credit for) was moved to Cody's poetry account (should be Nep's but that one was reallocated for the clothing line). Was going to comment on it a bit. It's a nice one, although the stanza print layout is a little off (due to the printer I would tend to think). Oh well. Keeping with the writing theme... here's another recent pic of Codes -- and one of mine, for good measure, and a change.

I had a sudden urge last October to get the same edition of Rimbaud's work, like I knew Cody had. Couldn't find a hardcover one, but did get this pristine paperback. Have read through the poetry here and there, but found the letters in the back rather interesting as well.

Yeah, don't worry about trying to get pics and vids of yourself during training, @CodySimpson -- it's less about doing it for the cameras or for the glamour of it. As long as you can record some stories or talk about them after this extreme phase of your life has concluded, that will be more than enough. We do appreciate the glimpses you have shown us as they let us know you're doing everything to push as hard as you can. #AustralianOlympicTrials #Swimming #Dolphins

Cody is wearing a pair of dark gym shorts along with white runners and socks. Codes' video description: Last Saturday morning, after a nasty 2 hours in the pool. Emptying the tank on a dry-land circuit before Sunday rest. There’s so much beauty in all of this. I don’t share much of what we do in the pool as there’s no cameras around but I’ll try and share some more.

Just so happens I had another vivid (nighttime) recently. It certainly didn't have the persistence of the one a while back where he details that plan he put together, and wanted my opinion on it. But, this latest one did also occur in that same Ford Falcon Wagon after a crazy day of surfing he got in, all before a powerful storm came. The two of us ended up getting stuck in that Falcon Wagon for a while, as we rode out the driving rains and winds outside.
