Meanwhile in Europe:

"Specifically, will introduce the legal obligation for firms to develop transition plans.

All companies over 1000 employees would need to publish detailed Paris-aligned transition plans.

The variable pay of directors would be linked to achieving progress on those plans.

Institutional investors are to “induce their investee companies to bring actual adverse impacts caused by them to an end”."

The exact moment the Supply Chain Act passed in the EU parliament today after our exhausting protest and months of campaigning. Another huge round of thanks to everyone <3

PSA: TELL YOUR MEPs TO HOLD CORPORATIONS ACCOUNTABLE EU-WIDE AND VOTE “YES” ON THE SUPPLY CHAIN ACT TOMORROW

One of the greatest chances for labor and environmental rights worldwide enacted by the EU is currently being destroyed by conservatives!

The is currently being reformed at the last minute in the parliament! The EPP (right-conservatives) is pushing for the attachment of amendments to the law that will make tomorrow’s vote unnecessary, as whether the law passes or doesn’t, with the amendments it wouldn’t make a difference.

DE 🇩🇪: https://justice-business.org/de/rufe-deine-eu-abgeordneten-dazu-auf-fuer-ein-starkes-eu-lieferkettengesetz-zu-stimmen/

CALL YOUR EU REPRESENTATIVE NOW AND TELL THEM TO VOTE “YES” ON THE CSDDD AND REJECT ALL EPP AMENDMENTS!

The EPP had threatened to walk out on every committee about the CSDDD (yet promised to only do it once, every time) and demanded special treatments watering the Supply Chain Act down to basically nothing. If their amendments get added to the law for the vote tomorrow, there’s no difference to it being passed or not passed. It’s meaningless.

Erik,
@Erik@social.uden.ai avatar

If the amendments by the EPP get attached to the directive before the vote tomorrow, the Supply Chain Act () is screwed and even the greens, S&D, or THE LEFT will most likely vote against it.

Hey @echo_pbreyer, tomorrow from 8-9 AM MEP Anna Cavazzini has invited every other MEP for a parliamentarian breakfast about the (Lieferkettengesetz) with climate activists from the BUNDjugend (Germany), Belgium, and Uganda.

It’d be wonderful if you could come too. It’s inside of the EU parliament, if you got the time, feel free to come by.
