Today's Tiny Violin Award goes to ...
GPLB: "George Freeman says he resigned from government because he could not pay increased mortgage on ministerial salary"
EDIT: Just out of interest, I had a look at Georgie's expenses for this period - £47k, or two years of his mortage payments.

Wow.
Jonathan Slater, former permanent secretary at the Department for Education on R4 says that they asked for cash to rebuild/repair 300-400 schools a year. They were given funding for 100. Then Rishi Sunak became chancellor in 2021 and cut that to 50 schools.
That's this Rishi Sunak, in case you'd forgotten. 🔽

Expert gaslighting.
GPLB: "Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he understood people would be “frustrated” by hearing about the level of profits for energy companies, but recalled the introduction of a windfall tax on energy firms during his time as chancellor.

He said: “We’re using that money to help pay for people’s energy bills.”"

GPLB: "New DWP research shows benefits cap 'only results in making poor families poorer', says charity"
