Say what you like about the #FoodNetwork, it started me cooking about 20 years ago; had a long summer holiday at a lake cabin (with satellite TV) and watched enough shows that I got inspired. I'm no chef, but probably do 80% of our cooking and all of our baking now.

Chef Michael Chiarello, host of PBS series 'Season by Season', 'Michael Chiarello’s Napa' and 'Michael Chiarello’s Napa: Casual Cooking', has died at 61 following an acute allergic reaction that led to anaphylactic shock. Chiarello also hosted Food Network's 'Easy Entertaining', and appeared on 'Top Chef Masters' and 'The Next Iron Chef'.
