I'm interested to know which 25 more or less classic metal albums are your favorites. I have selected the 100 most popular from several sources, of which I will post 2 or 3 per week. You can then award 1-4 stars and I will evaluate the results.
Ok, @HailsandAles set a bonus day for #MetalheadClubAwards ! From a @lkundrak idea, we have to choose the best album from your vicinities (country, province, region, city, ecc...).
Well, there IS a metal band from the province where I live that really deserves a mention!
Tsubo, a death/grind band from Latina, Latium region.
The only word I have to describe their music is: tank. Or better. TANK, allcaps.
There seem to be many young and insanely energetic #Thrash bands. #Catastrofy and #FAÜST are also among the top ones, with a cult following of 20 people. #Malokarpatan also got a good new album out this year, so the granddad scene is doing fine too!
I have nothing for today's #MetalheadClubAwards@HailsandAles asked about the one extreme metal subgenre I never listen to or explore. I literally know almost nothing about thrash metal, and can't name a single thrash release in 2023. The only thing resembling Thrash I have listened to in 2023 is Blackened Trashish Hellripper.
Winding down #MetalheadClubAwards with some genre specific awards over the next few days.
Today it’s the turn of #ThrashMetal and so I am asking, what is your favourite Thrash album of the year?
There was no pure thrash on my albums of the year list, I’m not counting Hellripper, so I’m going to go with Tortured Demon and their album Rise of the Lifeless #Metal
#MetalheadClubAwards earworm of the year. It's a tough choice, so many great ones and I don't want to chose green lung or moonlight sorcery even though both have been stuck in my head for months.
It's a close toss up between the opening track on Hellripper Nucklavee cause that riff is catchy. But I'm gonna pick the song that has been stuck in my head constantly almost all year. Blackbraid - The Spirit Returns
Today the category was submitted by @derthomas himself and its best concert.
What is the best gig/concert you attended this year?
I have a few great ones to choose from and Obituary is an honourable mention but for me Carcass and their first hometown show since the 90s wins it for me #Metal#LiveMusic
Today's #MetalheadClubAwards category is best concert.
Hmmm, it's not metal, but it's metal adjacent, & it was a tribute band, I hope that counts.
At Halloween I saw Exploding Boys that covered The Cure, New Order & Depeche Mode.
The Cure guy was cool and good, but the DM guy just blew me away. 🎉 I was there in my MHC shirt & experiencing the launch night as a co-admin of our art server. It was like @sciasm was at the concert with me. 🎸
