Ich versuche (verzweifelt) meinen Passwortmanager #strongbox gerne auf nem iOS mit nem #Yubikey 5C NFC absichern und brauche dabei etwas Hilfe. Vielen lieben Dank schonmal 🙂
Gerne auch ein Boost
I currently use the Chrome browser almost exclusively. I would like to experiment with Firefox and other potential alternatives. However, my reliance on Google's password and payment-info management is a barrier. Whatever one might think about Google, they are very good at security and cross-device data sync, which are both must-haves for these functions. And events like the LastPass data breach make me justifiably paranoid.
@isomeme I use #KeePassXC on desktop and you can pair it up with #StrongBox (iOS) or #KeePassDX (Android) on mobile. Offline solutions works best since cloud services can't be trusted as you well know.
#iCloud Drive is great 95% of the time, the other 5% it’s simply infuriating. Hangs (“1 item, 8 kB left, LOL” for hours), stalls, randomly unsync’d files… I pay for the 200GB plan, mostly for Photos sync/storage, but even those €3/month are a hard sell at that point.
One more post I've been looking to replace 1Password with something more #FOSS friendly. So, it has to be on Mac AND iOS, it has to have Face/TouchID, and it should do iCloud sync as well as syncthing or another. Can contain more than passwords (like files)
I haven't tried it yet, so I'm appealing to some Mac people out there: Do you guys know? Is it any good? Is it here to stay? Does it do these things? Opinions?
@summeremacs I can't recommend #Strongbox ( https://strongboxsafe.com/ ) enough. While not directly #FOSS, Strongbox uses the #Keypass database format and is therefore 1:1 compatible with #KeypassXC and other Keypass apps.
For me, any app that doesn't sync the database itself in its lock-in cloud is a definite value-add.
Like I said, it's best to rely on a completely offline password managing experience. #KeePassXC#KeePassDX#Strongbox are your best options at this point.
