Hot damn this has been done extremely well. Nice to see something both high quality and contemporary tackle a high fantasy story from an elf's perspective.
The soundtrack is incredible, and the mastering draws out its full potential.
The art looks flat sometimes, but a strong consciousness of color throughout makes the whole experience feel consistent, and downright beautiful at times.
The dub is good so far, a trend that I've been thankful to see in recent years.
It's been a while since I've been hit with the feels like this, and I'm afraid for the emptiness that will come when it's over.
🤦
Donc pour 葬送 , DeepL me traduit par "rites funéraires"
#Frieren Beyond Journey's End has been pretty good so far. No isekai or MMO bullshit. Just very well written classic heroic fantasy. The first 2 episodes especially felt just right. Hopefully it can keep being this good for the whole 28 episodes run.
#TheFarawayPaladin is actually fine as a pure fantasy genre story. The plot beats feel like a DnD campaign. Party members gain powers just when they'd be useful. Evil amassing far away.
And that is why it fails to classify as "Modern Anime". There's no tropey hook. No cliffhangers between episodes. No ridiculous plot twist. Not that many people seem to care about it. :meowthinking:
Apart from the interesting beginning, there's barely any anime tropes, just regular fantasy ones. No cute elf girl (only a cute halfling girl). No animal people.

I don't hate it, but it's basically a very vanilla fantasy story. I agree that DnD slice-of-life somehow fits. :ablobcatreachflip:
There's barely any spice. Stronger character interactions and banter could make it far more... interesting. #GoblinSlayer has that goblin overkill thing going on. #Frieren has that NewGame+ overpowered mage and stronger character interactions. #Grimgar had the psychological impact of death thing.

If you aren't watching Frieren this season, then you're missing out on one of the better shows that's aired in quite a while. This adaptation has been everything I was hoping for and more
#Frieren
It's a shame
