I have been shuffling through many Mastodon clients for iPhone for a long time and finally settled on @IceCubesApp since last year. It best suits my needs. But this post is not an app advertisement; it’s about something else. #IceCubes is a free and open-source app, and that alone is enough to consider paying for it. But the fact that it is excellent means that you actually should pay for it.
I will explain this post in my Wednesday YouTube video, so stay tuned. :drake_like:
I’ve recently been using #IceCubes for Mastodon and recently noticed the automatic #AltText generator. So far it’s been pretty accurate including adding text from memes.
If you see someone mentioning a technology (or something else) you want to check out later, set a bookmark (Inside your client) in addition to boosting it, because it's hard to find what you boosted a few weeks later.
You are other people's algorithm. Make sure to boost interesting posts, otherwise they will not get visibility beyond an audience following the hashtag.
For those on iOS, have a look at #IceCubes, you can set in into a Twitter-like single column mode.
