• de 16h à 18h, un atelier « tupperVim » pour partager des connaissances sur nos éditeurs préférés (niveaux débrouillés / confirmés / experts).
En route pour l’atelier #tupperVim de ce soir chez #Orus, rue de Turbigo à Paris. Une tradition de plus de 10 ans qui dure grâce au sérieux des participants, et je me dois de montrer l’exemple :

Pour qui ne connaîtrait pas encore nos ateliers #tupperVim : on y parle de #Vim (no shit, Sherlock ?), de #Neovim (<3), mais aussi de #Kakoune, d’#Helix ou même d’#Emacs (coucou @ThierryStoehr !), et plus généralement de tous les outils cools qui tournent dans un terminal — le tout, dans un cadre convivial.
(Ne pas assister à ce genre d’événement est une faute de goût.)
I see a great number of people picking packaged distributions like #AstroVim, #NVimChad, #LazyVim or simply moving to other editors like #Helix or #Kakoune because the configuration and/or the ecosystem became a burden to manage.
Maybe, they have too many plugins and missed the power of the close-to-vanilla editor?
I've a dozen hand-picked plugins and have been fine for years.
Agreed it's not shinny, but it works damn well and never breaks.
There's a #Vim thing on the front page of Hacker News today. Someone asked

@masukomi yes, but... no. i would have used #vim even without all those plugins, merely because its text editing «language» (once i got used to it) fits so well with how my brain works while editing.
having said that, i'd probably switch to #kakoune at some point (because of a better realisation of the language imho) --- now, there it's mostly all those cool and useful plugins that keep me with #vim =)
