I have successfully modeled the LaserPecker2 so that I can make jigs for it.

It's in Holler if you want a link.

I was just measuring things to make a jig for my LaserPecker 2.

Anyone interested in getting into should know that they're having a 30% off halloween sale. https://www.laserpecker.net

The only real downside to the "cheaper" laser peckers is that it's proprietary software & the phone app requires you to log in to their servers. So, if/when they stop updating the software / servers we're screwed.

I upgraded from a very underpowered 2.5 watt laser attachment for my to a dedicated entry level 5.5 watt Ortur Laser Master 2 kit that I got refurbished.

Should make my linocut idea actually feasible.

Still not powerful enough for cutting wood but that's not the intended use case for the moment.

Still working on the K40 laser machine at the maker space.

I'm using a separate 24V power supply for the cohesion 3D mini board control board and for the stepper motors. So I feel comfortable using the 24V and 5V from the laser power supply (LPS) to power some led lights and other small things. Problem is that the 5V and 24V connections on the LPS are made with a pin plug instead of screw terminals. So no easy way to add more connections

Had a bunch of 2 pin detachable screw terminals on hand so I made up a power distribution block with some solder board.

3D printed a case for it and laser etched the pinout info on top of the case. Engraving was infilled with black paint.

Picture of one end of the Solder board, with attached screw terminals, screwed onto a black 3D printed base that has stand offs build in. The end terminal is unplugged from the soldered on base.
Picture of the under side of a red 3D printed case top. Has cut outs for the screw terminals. At each corner are brass heat set screw inserts for attaching the top to the base.
Picture of the assembled case. The red 3D printed case top has been laser etched showing the 5V IN and 24V IN pinouts as well as the 5V OUT and 24V OUT pintouts. The etching has been filled in with black paint to high light the engraving.

Processed a photo with DrawingBotV3 and LightBurn, still struggling to get the focal length and timing perfect but it's starting to look better.

Calibrating a laser is hard.

I haven't injured myself or started any fires.

Ruined a lot of 3/4 finished pieces of art with minor mistakes though!
