I only use real monospace fonts

kkarhan,

@root interesting...

Personally I'd hope this is a complete rework and not "derivative" for copyright reasons...

Also anyone planning a version of that is ?

Cuz I do use or instead of it...

Annnnd this is why I find pdfs to be an unhelpful and unwanted reading format 🙄 illegible on an eReader because it was formated for two column reading and can't change the layout...

Airbus open sourced their new cockpit font. Make it the default for all your embedded projects, because it's REALLY good and has real testing in difficult environments!

kkarhan,

@berkough @danmarce @Elucidating So I guess may be a tad too strong?

Personally I wished the "FE-Schrift" (Germany's standard font for License plates since the late 70s, optimized for OCR and character differenciation) was OpenSourced because it really has a lot of legibility bonuses.

kkarhan,

@danmarce @berkough @Elucidating After all, to me it looks like an optimized hybrid between , New Century and without being very obvious yet very elegant and optimized to read.

I need your opinions on ALL CAPS.

Is it hard to read, visually?

I have heard yes. But sometimes it makes things easier to read, to me, in very specific circumstances. So I'm conflicted.

kkarhan,

@dyani I think it's less a matter of caps or not - people like @fuchsiii would say that abolishing caps would increase readability - but IMHO a matter of / .

and some other fonts really make it easier to identify letters and help people read.

Personally I prefer fonts and I could accept either or regular typing as long as it's consistenty used.

kkarhan,

@dyani @fuchsiii That being said allowing the use of for added should be an option.

I remember @elaine among others to petition for to include to their Operating Systems to make them more ...

I don’t get it. I use an app, @MonaApp . It had a feature, hashtags where colored blue.

A new update now makes hashtags grey. And I’m digging trough settings and can’t find how to change it back blue.

Why? Why you do it? It’s really frustrating

kkarhan,

@skwee357 @ivory @Tusky that's good to hear.

Shoutout to @MonaApp cuz that really is a simple.option to increase accessibility.

OFC being able to also use custom like would be even better for some people.

@elaine wished for allowing that system-wide...

If you have #dyslexia , do alternative fonts in apps help with the reading experience?

If yes, are Atkinson Hyperlegible or OpenDyslexic useful fonts to use with #Tusky? Are there others (that are freely redistributable).

The attached screenshots show what this would look like.

Please boost for reach.

@Tusky We added to the tool, because readers asked us to be able to generate ebooks that made use of that font.

So (as I'm not dyslexic myself), I guess it's useful! 🙂
