If you want to enjoy C16/Plus/4 stuff with SID music, and not lucky enough to own an NST Audio Extension, get the next best thing, as presented by @root42 - the ReSeed card.
Great video, with excessive amount of Plus/4 democontent from Hungary. 🇭🇺 😉
The Commodore 264 machines, including the Plus/4 and the C16 used the TED IC for video and sound. The audio was not great: two square wave channels. The Commodore 64’s SID chip was a proper three voice synth. So people built expansion cartridges for the Plus/4 using the SID and eventually games and demos using this were published. These cards are pretty rare, but now there is a homebrew clone of the card!
Over the past two weeks I've been working on a little evening project: I ported Stunt Car Racer to the Commodore Plus/4. There's still a little work to do before I'm ready to release this into the wild, but the actual game works nicely and looks amazing in the glorious TED colours!
WinVICE is a program that executes programs intended for the old 8-bit computers. The current version emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, all the PET models (except the SuperPET 9000, which is out of line anyway), the PLUS4 and the CBM-II (aka C610)....
Mighty impressive Lemmings for the Commodore 264 series of machines. I think the C64 still does it better, but this is really impressive. Lemmings are falling quite slowly, but the levels are recreated faithfully. #retrogaming#commodore#plus4
Just diagnosed a Plus/4 for a colleague on the Forum64 and it turns out: the PLA was dead! Only had dead CPUs so far! The dead PLA is a new one for me! #commodore#plus4#retrocomputing
I have intensely fond memories of #ProspectorPete on the #Commodore#Plus4. The rising water level gave the simplistic digging a sense of urgency not found in most other #DigDug clones. It wasn't impossible to master like so many other games of the time, but remained challenging.
