Last week we () received, free, a full trailer of 275 gallon IBC bottles, already washed, pure HDPE (white or natural), for with our shredder. 90 of them in total, about 47 pounds each.

A local trucking company accumulates more than they can sell or reuse. Payment from previous recycler dropped to be less than the cost of labor and transportation. They were delighted to have a local place where they could just bring the trailer and see it emptied.

Ordered one of these Monday and it just arrived. Very curious to see how dense it makes LDPE and HDPE films and bags.

@masukomi We have two shredders -- a small one and a Pro model. You can get used industrial ones for cheaper, but often those require 3-phase power.

If you want to go the Precious Plastic route, various outfits make and sell them through https://bazar.preciousplastic.com/

Followerpower: At @preciousplasticmunich we have a bunch of old 3D prints we'd like to recycle. The only problem is: some of them are PLA, and others PETG. We'd like to separate them before recycling.

Any ideas on how to tell them apart?

So a side project that's been sitting on the burner for 3 years is a manual 'everything' shredder.
I have the shredding unit, but nothing to power it with, and certainly no 3 phase electric motor which is what everyone suggests. I have no electricity where I work.

What I need is a good old fashion hand crank/wheel. Better would be a geared one. Like a cast iron mangler or something.

Preferably something that doesn't cost much. Any help?
