👍 The knackered old Aachen-Spa regional train will be replaced by a modern double decker train with more carriages that will run Aachen-Liège instead - this is progress! The new train will be disabled accessible, and have a proper space for bikes
@jon Es war immer ein Erlebnis, wenn der ICE aus Frankfurt außerplanmäßig in Aachen endete und alle Fahrgäste mit Ziel Brüssel in die beiden Wagen des klapprigen Nahverkehrszuges der #SNCB umsteigen mussten. Wenn die #DB ihren ICE nicht zuverlässig zum Laufen bekommt, haben die Belgier künftig zumindest eine anständige Alternative.
@jon#DePanne - #Luxembourg - #Metz - #Strasbourg +return with a bike defeated me. The info on which Lux-Metz trains carried bikes was different to what CFL said. Platforms often also wanted to route me via Lille onto #TGVs that carried no bikes and I think some couldn't cope with #SNCB carrying bikes on a day ticket not a reservation for each train.
Maybe @jon would know about that one: both #SNCB and #NS operate double-deckers on their networks so why did they order single-deckers for the #ICNG that is supposed to replace the #CrossBorderRail#ICBenelux that is almost always packed with passengers standing between carriages???
