Last Sunday Latvian OSM community (in the massive numbers of two for this event :) ) created streetview images for the Ķīpsala (literally - bale island) region of Riga.
Do you like some remote mapping for relaxation? These fresh images could allow to add a lot of detail.

Ist eine App die einem Orte anzeigt wo noch Informationen für das #OpenStreetMap Projekt fehlen.
Ich gehe derzeit in der #Seestadt herum und versuche möglichst viele offene Fragen wie
> Wie viele Stufen hat die Stiege?
> Hat der Spielplatz eine Überdachung?
> Aus welchem Material ist dieser Weg?
>Wie hoch ist hier der Bordstein?
> Welche Art Fahrradständer ist hier?
usw. zu beantworten.
Ich muss sagen dass ist sehr niederschwellig gemacht - prima! Dort wo etwas nicht beantwortet werden kann, kann ein Kommentar (auch mit Foto) hinterlassen werden.
Einzige Voraussetzung ist ein Account bei OpenStreetMap (kann in der App angelegt werden) und los geht's.
Ich muss sagen dass ich die Seestadt damit bis in den letzten Winkel kennenlernen werde. Einige Winkel hab ich schon die letzten Tage kennengelernt, wäre ich sonst nie hingekommen.
Nebenbei gehe ich zu Fuß und kann helfen OSM noch besser zu machen als es schon ist.

Ich bin gerade wieder am Arbeiten mit #uMap , weil wir einen neuen Kurs für unser Crossgolf Turnier spielen wollen.
Dabei wieder mitbekommen, das an der Optik und am Inhalt Verbesserungen dazugekommen sind.

Was ist eigentlich im #Saarland mit #OpenStreetMap los? Ich war da gestern, und kaum über die Landesgrenze, hatte ich den Eindruck, dass die Karte schlechter und veraltet ist.
Ich wollte auf nem eingezeichneten Autobahnrastplatz rausfahren, und der existierte einfach nicht mehr. Nicht einfach Baustelle, sondern die Leitplanke war über die ehemalige Ausfahrt durchgezogen und es wuchs schon Vegetation über alles. Der muss schon seit über nem Jahr zu sein…!
Ich hab jetzt fünf (1) Zwischenziele eingefügt, um den Routenplaner für Radfahrer von der Autobahn abzubringen, vergeblich. Was mach' ich denn falsch? #openStreetMap
I keep seeing in my feeds comparisons between #OpenStreetMap and Google maps. The point is 'OSM (and derivatives) are better because by default shows way more info'. In that aspect, they're right. To map people this annoying.
What I think is that they miss the point: the lack of info in gmaps (and I guess amaps, and facebook?) is intentional. The whole point is, because you don't see anything, you ask the app for everything. That provides them more points for building their profile of you.
The more I'm thinking about it, the more I consider it.
I want to add a map for my bicycle rides, but I can't find any good PHP maps. The PHP versions of Leaflet on GitHub are no good. They don't work at all. They just gives you errors like "can't load class" or something like that.
So even if I am against it only to challenge myself, I consider using Leaflet in JS for airikr.me/biking.
Or do you have any solution in PHP that works out of the box?
