Completed the combat patrol part of my leviathan box. Feels good to finally have a playable force ☺️

I think the basing still needs some love, but I'm happy enough with it for now. I also really need to improve my photography set up 🤣

I know, I know.
But lore aside - it's funny.
And golden.
And 18 pieces.
And he does, indeed, protect!

Experimented with a black prime to try the slapchop technique. Wasn’t a big fan of the darker hue, but it’s growing on me. Easier for it to look more realistic. On the left is my white primed paint job.

Space Marines are always such a comfort project for me, when in doubt paint a Marine! Indomitus was such a solid boxset, ever model is so good 😻

I've been told that my setting reminds people of , especially the , and I can see that: there are definitely strong parallels with city worlds and .

The difference is that the War is over, and the Hammer is the Orcs, in desperate need of an endless supply of nails.

I find the question of "What do we do with the when the war is over?" to be far more interesting, and relevant, then the itself.

I'm in the process of assembling the from the box, and I've gotta say I'm enjoying the process so far. Something I usually dread.

Snipping the parts off of the sprue leaves behind almost nothing to clean up. Mould lines are nearly non-existent. Assembling is fast and easy, too.

The Neurotyrant is probably my favorite of the whole box, and I have a second one (from trading my for more bugs) on the way that I can't wait to assemble. 😆

Blood drinkers Space Marine.

For my personal army/collection.
In addition to a radio antenna the main change to this miniature is the robotic arm.
Made from a piece of sprue (elbow and upper arm), plastic rod (forearm), and a hand (cut from an arm).

Rescue Terminators.

The miniatures here were bought on ebay and handed to me to repair and paint.

While unpainted, they were poorly removed from the sprue and then glued together just as inexpertly.
cleaning it all up left a lot of damage on the mini's.

So I went with it as battle damage and they gained the theme "Rescue Terminators", as they are indeed ebay rescues.

Plus custom made bases on the space hulk theme.

Had fun with one of the bases here and added a Genestealer hand sliding one of the floor plates aside.

Primaris Intercessors squad A.

No changes to the miniatures, but they do stand on custom-made flagstone bases.

Painted with a unique scheme to keep them Chapter agnostic (a cunning scheme to maximise who I could sell them to).

Spot them running about a table somewhere in America.

Space Marine Inceptors.

I have a strong dislike for clear flight stands, so I do things like this.

This trio of Inceptors all have a handy piece of terrain to keep them at about the right height.

One is hopping a fence with the help of his jet-pack.
Another is landing on a box (and is lucky the box has crushed).
And the last is smashing his way though a wall.

Also of note is that I used 9 different metallic paints on these.

This Inceptor is hopping a fence. The fence (baring an Imperial Aquila) is bending under the weight.
The Inceptor is focused on aiming his gun and not paying any mind to the wall he is kicking through.
This Inceptor is landing on a box, his jet-pack is powering down. The box is crushing under the weight.

This is the fence-hopping Inceptor.

While he uses the jets to leap, he is placing enough weight onto the fence to bend it.

He is actually pinned all the way into the base and the support is hidden by the bush.

The box landing Inceptor.

Using one side of one of my cast boxes and some scraps, I had this Inceptor crushing a box on landing.

Also, for his jets I modelled them curled up and painted them partially orange to indicate them powering down as he lands.

And last, but not least, the brick wall Inceptor.

The wall is made of "mostly" separate bricks of plaster and foamcore.
Then pieces of broken plaster were placed individually to create the cracked plaster layer on each face of the wall.

Hellblaster squad.

A couple of minor modifications; one is reloading and another is holding his weapon one-handed.

All have grass bases with scorched patches, because they wield plasmaguns.

The colour scheme is also a nod to their use of plasma; A bright yellow, like the plasma of the sun. And the light blue accents, as is typical of plasma weapons.
I also dulled the red of their guns as a bright red was too much with the rest.

The last 2 of this Hellblaster squad were modified to make them unique.

One had the weapon arm swung out (cut and re-glue above the elbow), and the other hand was replaced with a press-moulded hand.

The other chap is now in the act of reloading. The battery(?) was cut off the gun and glued into his hand (that had been cut away from the gun). The foregrip required some resculpting as a result.

Primaris Lieutenants and Captain in Gravis armour.

One was modified from stock to be stepping up, the other 2 are untouched.
But all 3 stand on custom made bases.

Painted up in a unique scheme, to make them special.

Intercessors Squad B; the elements.

Painted as a squad made up of members from different chapters.
Their chapter markings have been covered with a grey square and each has been assigned an "element" from "Air", "Earth", "Fire", "Water", and a mysterious "Fifth" element.

Here you see "Water" originally from the Ultramarine chapter.
