#Fedipaint entry across the line! Despite being last minute dash, I loved #painting these up in a #Blanchitsu style. Completely committed to making myself paint in a totally different way to. Goal will be to get the rest of the warband finished and in this style, and to get their display base/some new terrain to match.
Thank you as always to @Berit for this wee distraction - it was very appreciated in the last month and a half.
I swear I’m not just screaming #Mordheim at you because I want to, swear @erikcats made me do it… that and I want to scream Mordheim at you. #FacesOfMordheim 1/7
The Brothers of the Green Handkerchief. As nice a mob of religious zealots as you’re ever going to meet - including some situably badly named characters including Captain Heinehienicksoon Von Karmle Glassen Auge and his three dugs, Duggle, Gruffe, and Wafver Wafve.
Some hired swords of much renown including my favourite #Fedipaint entry Luthor Wolfenbaum. Also on display are the bane of my Mordheim Existence - the Dwarf Treasurer Hunters piloted by @seanayres5.
Here’s some pieces from two warbands I’m working who couldn’t be further apart. They’ll soon grace the Tabletop and make names for themselves when I drag some folks together to introduce them to #Mordheim in the not too distant future.
The Undead. These napped fellows were piloted by Ms Drumlinhat when she cordially agreed to a couple of games. They delivered a sound trashing to some Witchhunters as befits the sentiments of both themselves and my marvellous otherhalf.
Long time no toot. #FediPaint finish line is just around the corner, and I’m still in the middle of things.
I went in on some some watered down skeleton horde, followed up with a glaze of Wraithbone with a pin prick of red through it to help bring up the colour (recommendation from an Uncle who actually knows what he’s talking about). Pretty happy with where I’ve got to tonight - but seeing a couple of evenings still ahead here!
Having finished the Cauldron of Blood it's time for something a little less intricate, as a treat! The Endless Spells in AoS are some of the most fun models to paint, and since they're formed of magic who cares if you pick out all the details? But in this case... a blood snake is made of blood, so of course it's (three different shades of) blood red!
My current WIP, really happy with how this classic Warhammer Wight Lord is coming out. Always wanted to paint him so trying to give him a very special paintjob
""Give up, old owl. I've fought your kind before, and your illusions won't fool me."
"I never realized I would rate the big bad wolf himself. I don't know what illusions you mean, and I don't really give a hoot. If you knew who you were coming for, you wouldn't have worn those bones."
Carlyle Grayson was not ready for his own trophies to be reanimated and attack him, and joined church ranks once reanimated.
I bought these guys a long time ago from Paul Cook at ‘Blind Beggar Miniatures’, now sadly defunct. They are simple sculpts, and it took me while to get to them, but again recently tried to make them work. The latest two are on the right, others are much old paint job. Have now dug out the rest and will try to make more progress with the set #miniatures#minipainter#minipainting#paintingminis#cthulhu#deepones#Hybrids#blindbeggar#paulcook
I decided to push forward on the Blood Cauldron, and I have now reached a point where I'm happy with it. There's always more things that COULD be done, but I'm calling it here before becoming lost in the weeds.
Two more figures for my StarGrave crew. One of these will become my crews Pathfinder. Not sure yet whether the other will fill a role in my starting crew or just be put aside for later in the campaign.
I must have knocked her over by accident because at some point her judgemental finger fell off. Time to check the bits for a spare Necron finger to replace it with. I'm pleased with the clothing, need to shade and layer the face and the door she is standing on feels like it could use some rust.
I think this terrain piece is going to reach the finishing stretch fairly soon! I want a bit more detailing on it but overall I'm pretty pleased with it. It helps that the grot on top is already painted - the one on the tank is a stand-in.
I spent time painting tonight and decided to start some "remix" pieces for my Tower of Terror. (A "remix" in this context is an STL that's been modified to include new or different features.)
Even with just the rough colors blocked out, I can tell this catacomb level will look great!
I'm at that weird stage with a model where I need to decide if "enough is enough" or go all in and keep at it forever.
What do you all think? Should I keep finding more and more details? Also, is there anything glaring?
Little palate cleanser figure before I dive into heresy ultramarines. A Stormcast Eternal with badly chipped enamelled armour and an opalescent prismatic sword.
Don't know what army I want to do for 4th edition AoS but I loved painting this woman in a way I wasn't expecting and it's nice to do a more grounded, weathered armour for a change.
Need to get back in the habit of taking pictures as I go. Last month's free mini is on the desk currently, along with a Scout Kill Team and some Blood Angels Terminators.
