Tiny Tiny RSS
A little thread on Feilner-IT software setup... At the core of it all is #Owncloud@ownclouders . I use it for file sync, share and a simple backup Inside that, I run @collabora and @ONLYOFFICE .
You should test it, you won't believe how fast those two run on #ownCloudInfiniteScale. I even wrote my first Linux-Mag-Article completely in the browser, with strong auth, on the way to #zerotrust, both from linux, chromebook or mobile clients. I dont do Windows or Apple, but it's avail. 1/
And then, in this short overview, there's @ttrss_info#ttrss (TinyTinyRSS), the best webbased RSS Feed reader. It also allows following Google News or social media (even though X doesn't anymore, it seems) 5/
Since a lot of people seemed to enjoy the video where I talked about the #OpenSource software I use, here is a video with all the stuff I run on my #NAS, and the things that I still need to set up on it:
@thelinuxEXP You mentioned downloading #youtube#videos via #rss: I use #TinyTinyRSS and have all "subs" (I don't have a Google account) there in a feed category. Channel subs are made via #rssbridge. The feed category aggregates all the feeds into one. The aggregated feed then will be the source of my small #python script that downloads the videos via #yt-dlp and then uses the #ttrss api to "mark" the post/feed item/video to "read", after downloading. It's hacky but it works.
I use a self-hosted #ttrss to follow feeds, and the largest active (and still growing!) category is comics. The vast majority of the blog feeds I (used to) follow are either dead (as the hosting site shut down) or inactive, last updated some 10 years ago, with few exceptions (among which, the feeds from my own <http://wok.oblomov.eu/>).
(And for what it's worth, I still visit the original posts, even when the full article is available in the feed itself.)
@oblomov
I use #ttrss as well I still have a number blog feeds believe it or not. Also news site rss. Some sites have nonobvious rss feeds like that paid newletter site you just add /feed on url end
