I was listening to a podcast the other day with an obgyn describing topical use of liquid antihistamine (like Benadryl) to treat things like heavy periods and postpartum bleeding, which was a little mind-blowing. Has anyone tried putting Benadryl on hives to see what happens??
I should find out what the local equivalent of Benadryl is 🤔

Oh I didn't even realise the Benadryl range includes topical ointments etc! So I may have misunderstood the podcast, maybe they weren't talking about the oral kind.

Right?? We have a little network and the moment one of us find something, everyone takes their business there! Where I live we all see the same dentist and the same physio, and there's a certain pharmacy gaining popularity 😁

Yeah, I feel very fortunate that we have the things we do have here, and the little community. I wish it was more, but I know in lots of places there's a lot less :(

For those with #MECFS, do you find yourself struggling with #Depression and/or #Anxiety since becoming ill, especially if it seems different from depression and/or anxiety that you experienced prior to becoming ill? If so, how are you managing your depression/anxiety? Have medications helped? Are you using non-medication approaches that work? @mecfs

I've had anxiety on and off forever, and now deal with anxiety triggered by my dysautonomia/POTS - it feels quite different. Instead of my thoughts stressing out my body, my body stresses out my thoughts. When my body gets stuck in flight or fight mode, it's like my brain needs to find a reason (apart from Too Much Standing 😅) for my body to be doing that, and it latches on to the most convenient nearby anxiety source.

I do know that feeling!! I don't actually know if my POTS is hyperadrenergic - my brother is sure that his is, I don't know if that's a clue or not.

Nice relaxing morning today, as I've kept the kids home due to the heat. I need to put a load of washing on asap before it gets too hot to hang it out, do a load of washing up, and clean the coffee machine.

Well, the only thing from the list I've managed is the load of washing 😅
I have a good excuse though - the kids asked if we could wash the dog, and since the dog desperately needed a wash and it's rare for the kids to request any activity that doesn't involve screentime, we have washed the dog.
The dog has recovered much more quickly than I will 💀

Wait mast cell activation can contribute to the degradation of connective tissue??? So you can have ok connective tissue but if you have untreated MCAS for long enough the connective tissue problems can set in later 🤯
