@animefeminist Best of the season was A Sign of Affection, for being a beautiful, heartwarming, character-drive romance.

Most surprising was Fluffy Paradise; I was expecting an alright, comfy series, but even I was surprised by how atrocious the writing got by the end.

Welcome back to the . Today we're on Season 1, Episode 9, "Defense and Fourth Event."

The first half of the episode focuses on the preparation for the upcoming guild war. Particular focus is placed upon Frederica dueling Sally to gain more info, which is an interesting way to have them fight but also once again shows how jank NWO is that Sally can just call out fake skills and people go "I mean, I guess that could be real."

The second shows the start of the war as Maple Tree wrecks everyone's shit, even as Flame Emperors and Holy Sword make their presence known. Plus we get the first appearance of sad wet rat Mii.

Welcome back to the . Today, we're on Season 1, Episode 8, "Defense and Third Event."

Even though it's in the episode title, the third event isn't really all that important. Instead, the focus is on Maple gaining two of her most valuable skills and my personal favorites: Atrocity and Machine God. While the fights themselves are not to the same standard as ones we've seen or will see, they still show off Maple's evergrowing power within the game and the ways she utilizes her skills in creative ways - as long as she doesn't mind no longer being human.

We start off this week in 2017 with Konishi's role as Matsubara in . One of the major creators whose fictional character comes to our world, Matsubara becomes something of a parental figure for the group, particularly for his creation Selesia and Souta as they struggle to develop their own selves. Konishi's performance here is that of a middle-aged man whose years of experience help to remain (relatively) level-headed.

Our next role has us jumping to 2018, where Konishi voiced Berthold in . One of the main otherworld visitors to the izakaya Nobu, Berthold is a hardass city guard who finds himself melting both to the food of the restaurant and his marriage to future employee Hermina. Konishi is more tough in this role but still retains that quality of a simple man who's just happy to get this far in life.

In 2021, Konishi soared to the sky as Takase in , the head of the rival gymnastics team to our protagonists. Another Konishi hardass, he still gets a nice performance out of someone who enjoys seeing those he's competing against do just as well, if not better, than his team.

Going to 2023, Konishi voiced the soldier Orinoga in . A key warrior in a post-apocalyptic kingdom who finds himself in the middle of a greater society, Konishi does a solid job making Orinoga respectable and strong, even in the face of impossible odds.

Finally, also in 2023, Konishi voiced Kouya Madoka in . A hyperactive photographer who finds himself in the world of F4 racing, Kouya turns out to be a committed figure in Haruka's life while also dealing with his own baggage. A somewhat goofier turn for Konishi, he's still able to be emotionally affective when need be, particularly in the anime's standout ninth episode.
